Out of all the pubs/clubs/bars that I have been in all over the world this is probably the most unique one. Walking into this pub is like getting into a time machine and going back into the past.
The decor is a combination of 1940's and 1960's. It always has a good crowd (mainly locals). The guinness is great and cheap at only €3.50 (as of 9/11/05).
It has to be the only pub in Dublin that doesn't have a cash register. The toilets aren't actually in the pub one has to go into the backyard where there is a seperate building(shed). It is quite common to get soaked and frozen on the trip to the bog, on account of the weather.
Oh and don't expect to get a Hot Whiskey to warm yourselfup after the ordeal of going to the toilet. As there is no kettle!!
What a great spot though, especially if you like genuine old world and don't mind braving the lack of modern 'luxuries'.
