- This pub has great food and that is probably the only reason for going into it.

- Went to a great Wednesday night they call 'Gig N The Corner' with Tom Walsh and Maurice Lennon and a new different special guest every week. Starts about 9:30 and went on and on. It was very packed but it was well worth it with the quality of music.

- The Speaker Connolly Pub has recently been taken over by a catering company and has totally improved the pub. I had never been to the Speaker before, but a friend of mine recommended the food so we decided to try it and OH MY GOD it is amazing!! By far the best pub food I have ever tasted, its restaurant food in a pub so you have the best of both worlds!! The services was great, and I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys food to give it a try. You wont be disapointed!

- This quaint little place has come a long way in the last few months. Has recently started serving the most amazing barfood which has brought a fresh clientele into this local especially at weekends. Barstaff are excellent, especially Brian and Ken

- Ideal for a quiet pint or three on a weeknight, but also a great starting point on a night out, with the Plaza and the Abberley Court just a short trip up the road, also near the Spawell. The 49 bus-stop is situated right outside, so it is also ideal for a atarting off point on a night out un the City Centre. The drink is reasonably priced, serves one of the best pints of Beamish in Dublin, the toilets constantly clean with soap and toilet paper always in supply, while the bar staff are very friendly and efficient, I've never waited longer than five minutes to get a drink, lounge staff can be quite slow at times, especially on busy nights. Does be quiet on Monday-Wednesday nights, unless there is a live match on, usually live music on a Thursday night, with free admission, it's a great night out if you're keeping an eye on your wallet. Does be quite busy on the weekends, nice on a Friday night if you're too tired to go into the City Centre after a hard week's work. Great atmosphere on Christmas Eve, but get there early as it gets very busy. On the long, hot Summer days, you can sit on the patio outside and watch the world go by over a couple of well-deserved drinks. Situated on the Firhouse Road, with regular buses and taxis going by, you will not have much trouble getting there or getting home. Rating: 8/10
