The Outback
Parnell Street
Dublin 1

Ph: 01-8724325

Description:
Casual Pub with Music and Live Music.
Review:
The Outback is situated on Parnell Street beside the cinmea complex and is a good place for a night out. The pub itself is themed on all things Antipodeon and for those who have had the pleasure of visiting Australia, you will feel as if you're back there. From the large stock of Aussie and Kiwi bottled beers to the televisions showing Rugby and Aussie Rules, The Outback brings Australia to you.
The Outback has a couple of levels, upstairs has sit in booths which if you are with friends are ideal. Downstairs, there is a (sort of) dancefloor where people were bopping around to a great variety of music from classic rock (AC/DC) to todays latest chart sounds, on the Saturday night we visited.
We have also been reliably informed that live music is also hosted from Thursday to Sundays and just to top it all off, there is a pool table at the back.
The price of a pint is very keen for the city centre and they taste great. The service by the friendly staff is very good also.
If you're into having a great time and a laugh, this is the place to be whether you're with a group of friends or just a few as it truly does have something to offer everyone (and is very popular with Aussies and Kiwis as well).

Public Reviews:

- Crazy,mad,party... There's nothing else 2 say.If somebody would ask me where 2 go in Dublin:one answer "OUTBACK" It's an typical ozbar like everybody knows them from Europe. But in this place on a oz day or NZ national day. Nobody can emagine what's happened in there. Or go in and watch a rugby match or enjoy one of the live gigs or or or...This place rules

- Obviously Andrew the from Sandymount is one of those ignorant people you wouldn't want to see in the Outback. Just as Irish pubs in Australia are packed with the Irish so to is the Outback here packed with Aussies. No problems with that. Outback is good for a laugh and a pint for everyone. As are Irish pubs back home. Get over it Andrew.

- Andrew, your the man! I think your prejudice, which I gladly share, is one aimed at the Aussie's, not the bar itself. Often I have ventured into Outback to find friendly staff, good food and overall an enjoyable evening. Even the rough looking, tattooed brut playing pool turns out to be a pussy (cat). Its a great place to watch rugby as there are screen in every corner, not to mention the massive screens by the stairs. Worth a visit! Ps, Andrew, good dig at the English! Mark, Patty's day? are you a bit numb in the head?

- If you enjoy the sound of drunken Australians singing Waltzing Matilda and talking about cricket then quite simply you're Australian. Everyone else take a wide berth. The only redemptive feature of this horrid experience is the beauty and charm of the New Zealanders who as victims of geography have to be so closely linked to their annoying neighbours. Being Irish I suppose we would know about annoying neighbours who wont shut up when they win a rugby world cup. If you want to drink 3 Euro snakebites and sing "we come from a land down under" go back to Australia.

-I was in this pub back in March 04' when St Pattys day was on and I must say my experience was a pleasureable one....from the familiar Crown Lagers being served to the band playing Powderfinger to Men At Work, it was a nice change to remind me of home.....but then I couldnt wait to get back amongst the action the Irish pubs have to offer!!!!
