Review: The Hairy Lemon is a great pub for students and people who enjoy non-chart music as it plays a wide variety of music. It is situated on Stephen Street near the Stephens Green Shopping Centre. It has an upstairs and a downstairs both of which get packed most nights of the week so seats can be hard to come by. It is open late at the weekend and regular hours during the week. The service is good considering the amount of people who usually cram into it and the barstaff are very good at hearing you shout for your pints (you have to shout as you usually end up behind people sitting at the bar). All in all this is a great pub for a few pints and a laugh whether you are on your own or with a group.

- Excellent pub!!! Very friendly and efficient staff, and a fantastic atmosphere (even after Ireland lost at the footie). To the person who wrote about waiting ages for their Guiness... Thats how its supposed to be served, you twonk!
- Absolutely loved it! First pub I went to while vising Ireland and I knew I had come home!!! Food and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere sure sets a tone.
- First stop when we visited Dublin last year & will be again this year. Great atmosphere, great pint of Guinness & one of the best Ceaser salade's my wife has ever tasted. The bar staff are very attentive and you could spend hours gazing at the various memrobilia in the bar, highly recommended !
- One of the best pubs Dublin has to offer. Don't let the "unusual" interior decor fool you. Very popular any time of the week, prices are reasonable, given the location and there is atmosphere to spare. Always very busy so finding a seat might pose a problem if you get there late, but recently expanded the bar into the cafe next door, so this problem is not as bad as it nce was. Not a great place to watch sport if that's what you are after, but has one of the best jukeboxes in any pub in Dublin. The crowd is fairly young, mid 20s mostly. The bar staff are good, as are the door staff, a pleasant change given the exact opposite applies to Break For The Border across the road.
- Great pub full of Irish memorabilia, some would say trash. Has a bit of a maze feel about it so take a bit of string when you go to the toilets. The snug at the front is a great place for watching the world going by.
- Someting about this place which is great!!! It's small, gets way too packed and looks like it needs a serious spring clean but it's got one thing that some bars will never have and thats atmosphere. The music is normally great and the bar staff do a good job, check it out..... it's worth a look even just for one as it's quite a unique spot!
- Has a 'local' feel to it. Mixed crowd of young 20 something's up to 30+. Last time I was here, the music was way to loud even for a young turk like me. People want to talk in pubs. The Beer:Varies. Sometimes its good, sometimes it's crap. A nice place for a first date during the week or to meet your friends in town at the weekend. Just keep the bloody music down.

- I was in Dublin for 3 days over last summer. The Hairy Lemon was the first pub my friends and I visited. The service and people were so great, we went there every night as a last stop. We also celebrated my friend Cyndi's birthday there (with numerous shots of Jameson's of course). This pub is a must-stop for any traveller!
- As I usually stay in this area when I am Dublin I had walked past this pub several times on my way to pubs that I know in the Grafton Street area but I had never felt attracted to it despite it receiving good reviews in various publications. I did eventually try it on the last evening of my last visit and I was sorry that I bothered. They say that first impressions are lasting impressions and in my case they were not favourable. The place itself was pretty uninspiring with a shabby sort of feel to it and loads of clutter and memorabilia everywhere but what put me off the place and the reason that I will never set foot in there again was the service. The barman took my order quickly enough and gave me the first drink, a glass of Stella, quite normally but then he made me wait ages for my pint of Guinness. I got the distinct impression that he was deliberately making me wait and as I had not done anything that could have possibly upset him I could only put it down to my English accent. I didn't rise to the bait and say anything about the delay but just waited patiently thinking to myself all the time that it would be my first and last visit and that I should have gone to McDaids instead.
- Really nice bar, the best bar I visited when I was in Dublin last November. The service is great, the staff are really nice and the food is really really good, what more can one ask for?
