The Dropping well has a near perfect location, on the banks of the Dodder. Most of the shopping trolleys and traffic cones seem to have been cleared from this stretch of the river. This is a huge pub, comprising of a posh downstairs restaurant, a huge lounge which also does (decent) food, and a 'traditional' style bar at the front "Boxer Mahers". Boxers is a good place for athmosphere and watching sports, and the lounge area is pretty relaxed. It's spread out over a huge area, so it never feels crowded or smokey, and there is plenty of lounge staff. Try to get a seat overlooking the river at night.
