Review: To be honest, we went to The Croppy Acre on the promise of cheap pints. You see, having received a Price Submission telling us how cheap they were, well it just told us that we gotta go and check it out for ourselves, so onto the Luas we hopped and minutes later we were standing outside the doorway (jump off at Museum on the Red Line, about a five minute walk.) So there we were outside arguing about who was going to buy the first round and in we went. The interior is mainly old style wooden and the TV was showing Reeling In The Years and the pub seemed authentic in the way pubs do. So we ordered our pints, searched for somewhere to sit, upstairs? Well a sort of upstairs, you can still see everything, ground level - perfect view of the TV or downstairs - pool table and music. Mmmm, upstairs we went. The pints when served were beautiful the beer cold and the stout creamy and yes they were cheap but for how long who knows. The barstaff were friendly, there are steps behind the upstairs bar leading down to the service area and our host brought up the Guinness to us everytime. We probably could have ordered from where we were but well, we didn't want to be rude. All said, this is a cosy little local with an ambient atmosphere, a diverse crowd and we'll be back again one way or the other. One final thing, it also has an off license.....what more could you want?
