Review: Scruffy Murphy's is tucked away behind Mount Street and is generally frequented by office workers and locals of the area. The pints are good and are good value. On rugby/Soccer international days generally catches the crowd as it is on route to Landsdowne Road. All in all it's a good pub for a quiet pint.

- As an ex-barperson of Scruffs, and now a frequent image on the correct side of the bar, I have not been in such a pub. It has a Cheers type bar in the middle which in unique in Dublin. It is a great place for a pint after work or indeed on your way to Lansdowne Rd. to watch the boys in Green. Recently they have added a beer area to the front of the premises where you can laze in the evening sun or indeed have a smoke in the shelter of the large umbrellas. Definitely worth a visit.
- Scruffys is that unusual animal, a pub that doesn't look great from the outside, or from the inside but yet has atmosphere in abundance. Prices are more than reasonable, the food in the afternoons upstairs is good value and the evening bar menu isn't bad either. Its unusual location (sanwiched between a "granny-flat" complex and the offices of Lwr Mount St) means that the clientele is diverse, from elderly locals to end-of-day suits. All in all, a good pub, nothing spectacular but does exactly what a good pub should do.
- While studying in Dublin, we lived in a house that was a short walk from Scruffy Murphy's. Now, when you picture the romantic image of an Irish pub, Scruffy's is what you likely imagine. Oak-panelled walls, a smoky haze, and the back-and-forth of elegant Irish businessmen drew me back time and time again. It rarely gets too crowded, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The wrap-around bar has some of the finest drinks available, and A**** the owner and F**** the bartender pour a fine pint of the dark stuff. It's tucked in a corner of the city, but well worth the trip.
