Description:
Casual Bar.
Review:
Ron Blacks / The Dawson Lounge is located on Dawson Street at the Stephens Green end and is known as the Smallest Pub in Dublin - probably because it is. Walking down Dawson Street you would be excused for missing it as it is only one door however if you do spot it, it is well worth a visit. Follow the stairs down and you will not believe you are in a pub as it is really that small, filling to capacity when about 20 people are in it. It can be a great place for a chat though, the pints are amongst the cheapest in the city and the staff (all one of them, usually) are friendly and cheerful. Service is grand and you can generally shout in your order from any part of the pub. Well worth a visit, if only to say that you were in the smallest pub in Dublin.

Public Reviews:
- Great pub and staff. You get chatting to total strangers. Female toilets are worth a visit but watch the rain water on the floor!! Had my first taste of Guinness there compliments of the staff.

- Smallest pub in Dawson Street. Claims to be the smallest in Dublin but I'm not convinced. Very intimate place though and you are likely to get talking to someone you've never met before. Gents toilets are under the pavement and you can hear and see people go past over head.

- Place was packed last time I was there but a good spot for a novelty pint. Toilets are interesting. The ceiling is made of misted glass blocks which are sunk into the pavement immeadiately outside the pub so you can see the shadows of passers by over your head. Very thrifty tipple too.

- Seeing as you can only fit in (at a squeeze) about 24 people, the buzz can be mixed. However, if all those people were your friends then it would be totally different. A once off and not a bad place for a date.
