1. Really great atmosphere in this place, relaxed during the week but pretty lively at the weekends. Drink is reasonably priced and bar staff are friendly.

2. Birchalls is the highlight of Ranelagh in my opinion. Friendly, experienced Bar Staff control the long bar stretching between two rooms. The front room is dedicated to locals mostly with an unobtrusive section round the side for TV where they show sport. The back room is filled with a mixed crowd and the atmosphere is always good. On a Friday night the place is busy throughout so finding a chair isn't always an option. Beats its neighbours hands down on atmosphere.
