Nancy Hands is situated on Parkgate Street more or less next to the Phoenix Park.
Upon entering the pub, you'll feel as if you've been whisked away from the city
into the cosy surroundings of a traditionally styled 'country' pub. The lighting
is dimmed to enhance it's relaxed atmosphere. The pints are keenly priced and
extremely tasty while the service is top-notch. Indeed while we were seated a lounge
boy noticed our empty pints and asked if we wanted another which we duly obliged. On
the Saturday night we popped in there was a band preforming Traditional Irish ballads
which the crowd seemed to enjoy. There is also a restaurant situated upstairs as well
as a snackfood menu. For smokers, there is a heated beer garden situated out the back.
All said, Nancy Hands is an excellent pub and is ideal for nights out with friends or
family for conversation, craic and laughs.
I worked in Heuston was in Nancys more times I can remember. Try out the cocktails - yum, yum. Enjoyed myself every time there. Smirnoff Ice pints as well. Ballads my favourite. Still go back - Love it. X
I stayed beside this pub for 4 days recently and ate there every night. It is lovely inside, the food ,pint and service were excellent. I am going back in 3 weeks and it will be more of the same!
Went for a meal and drinks on Friday night and got a table no problem. The meal was nice, Guinness not so. However when paying the bill by Visa I was asked to go downstairs to key in my PIN. I had to leave my friends to pay the bill. Surely they could bring the machine to the table. Ruined a nice evening. We are always told never to let your Visa out of your sight. Wont be rushing back.
Meant to add that this pub is in dublin 7. They advertise as dublin 8 but that is incorrect. Why they do this is beyond me. Maybe they are not happy being associated with dublin 7! Hope they get their mail without any delay!
To be above reviewer - the reason it's in Dublin 8 is that's how the lines in Dublin are drawn. I live across the street from Nancy Hands and while we live on the north side of the river, the lines that were once drawn here had this area as Dublin 8. The next street up is Dublin 7, so please don't be so snotty, and a judge a place on it's address next time you want to do a review. Don't worry, we all get our mail just fine.
