Maguires Pub situated on Baggot Street Lower is a blink and you'll miss it
pub. It's not that you don't notice it, you will, but it just does not look
like a pub in the traditional sense. It's basically an old Georgian house
converted into a boozer and is a great spot for a pint. The pub is spacious
and the Friday night we visited was not packed at all. The pints tasted fine
and were expensive but consistent in price with the surrounding area. The barstaff
are friendly and the service is excellent. Recommend this spot as somewhere were
to go after a long day in the office and have a few pints before heading home or
to chill out at night and sit back and chat with your friends.
One in a million- An oasis from the hussle and buissle. Me and my work Colleagues are regulars in Maguire’s which is under new management for the last two/three years. It is one of the only pubs in Dublin where - no matter how packed it gets; you will always get a pint fast.
Pub with lovely food and cosy seating and decor. It is constantly understaffed however and most irritating to try and get ordering either food or drink at all times of the day. Unfortunately when I approached the manager about this,he was very rude, unhelpful and bordering on abusive.
Good pub, but a booking glitch which nearly ruined my 30th birthday detracted from our enjoyment. Maybe they should be more professional with bookings and use the contact numbers they require to confirm that booking are provisional or are definitely going to be used. I was told two days before my party that our booking was gone and there
was to be a residents party in that area (which never happened in any part of the pub).
Hyper inflated prices for the food platters (55 euro each), which turned out to be
cheaper on the night (probably due to a lounge staff error) but who was I to complain.
Good clean glasses and beer, and nice efficient staff, Hurrah!
