- You can't but compare the décor of Madigans with that of a bar on any of the Dublin-Holyhead Ferries. While there is no maritime theme running through it, the very open floor and low partitions, allow for the whole pub to be viewed most seats (just like on the boats). This is a pub well frequented on Ireland and Leinster match days but is more than able to cope with large numbers. Staff are reasonably friendly and the beer is competitively priced for Donnybrook. Not bad.

- The pub that used to look like a boat. A thing of the past I'm afraid just like Longs in Donnybrook Madigans has changed from a good comfortable honest pub into a clean slick modern wine spritzer drinking foli prawn munching heartless entity with little charm just a cold modern slick machine. McCloskeys of Donnybrook now stands alone as the only pub in the area with real heart. Please don't change.
