Dillons is on the corner of Emmet Road and Gratten Terrace right
in the heart of Inchicore. The pub is well done up and always seems
buzzing with an atmosphere every night of the week. The service is
really good and the barstaff are very friendly. The bar area is
long and quite spacious and generally full of locals. Dillons also
has an excellent food menu which is good value for money and the food
served is very tasty. Ask for the Inchicore special and you will not
be disappointed - a toasted sandwich that takes some beating. A great
place for a few pints (and dinner!) any night of the week.
As a resident of one of those 'soleless apartment blocks' I find it to be a very good pub. Food's great, service good too and the staff tend to remember people. There seems to be a pretty good local crowd as well, especially at weekends.
I went to this pub while visiting relatives in inchicore. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but I cant help feeling that the heart has been taken out of this great pub.
The Black Lion has lost its way. It once was a friendly local pub and a part of Inchicore. It has in recent times began to pander to Inchicores 'progress' and aimed itself towards the new soleless residents of the areas various new apartment blocks. The pub has lost its atmosphere, and the staff; their politeness. It has become quite an unpleasant place to frequent. Shame on the Dillons and the Black Lion for forgetting their roots!
