Description:
Casual Pub with Music and Late Bar.
Review:
aka is located on Wicklow Street beside Tower Records. It used to be called Rasher McGeraghtys and is a renovated 'trendy' pub. It has a fun, youthful atmosphere (helped along by the latest music which can be a bit loud at times) and is very clean and spacious. aka has a late bar at the weekends and regular hours during the week. The drinks are very expensive due to the trendy tag. Service is quite swift as befits the atmosphere and the staff are generally young and friendly. If you want a good night out with a bit of dancing and drinking, aka is the place for you.

Public Reviews:
- Have only been 2 AKA once 4 a nightout 2 celebrate a mate's 21st birthday & we all had a great starter 2 the nite. It's an ideal pub starter with great music and great atmosphere b4 headin 2 a nightclub. The drinks r slightly expensive but so is all the other pubs in the area. The 1 thing is that the mens toilets r in need of renovations.

- Fantastic bar!! The selection of alcohol while a little on the expensive side, is mindblowing! They have everything! The music was definitely on point! I was informed it was RNB & HIPHOP Thursday, am a big fan of urban music and it was nice to hear something besides the usual Top 40 pop and dance! I appreciate great music being spun. DJ was a very nice and a modest guy! I will definitely visit this beautiful place again with friends. I word of advice, don't underestimate the strength of their drinks!

- ok, where to start! This place plays the best music ever, all up to date dance tunes. Lots of good looking people posing and pouting, including the men! Toilets are about 40 degrees hot and massive q's, what with girls going into bogs 3 at a time?! Really cool place, smoking area would be good, its a bit cold outside. .

- Cool place, looks dead swanky, and a really good pizza menu of which the prices I thought were of great value.
Just a shame the waitress was more up for an argument than delivering customer service. I shouldn't have to argue that an egg is either cooked or uuncooked (the egg white was clear) when politely asking for our pizzas to have another 5 mins in the oven. The scowls we received therafter whilst eating the pizza was also a little uncalled for.
A real shame, great gaff, just ditch that *****, she ain't good for business!

- I arranged to meet a girl outside of aka the other week, she came out of the pub to meet up with me but when we tried to get in together the bouncer refused, even though she left her bag and coat inside with her friends! After a few quiet words in his ear and a lot of standing around he finally let us go in. Once inside I was pretty impressed. Lovely layout, a tad small but the wall to wall stunning women made up for that! Overall, nice place.

- This place was really nice, but the door stewards were LOVELY. The friendliest folk we met in Dublin. I'd recommend this place to anyone and the decor was great.

- Place looks great since the refurbishment!!! but get rid of the waitresses!!! they take up too much of the barmen's time!!

- aka, unfortunately has really let itself down! Like all trendy bars in Dublin when they first open everybody goes there then they just lose all appeal and people move onto the next best new bar!. I never go there anymore because you constantly get shoved at the bar and because its too full the majority of the time

- Cool pub, great looking and full of pretty people, bit small and no dance floor. Can be a bit snotty, but lovely place, great bar staff quick enough and friendly bouncers, Z-List Irish celeb kinda place.

- Personally I like this pub a lot. Not for the slightly expensive drinks, nor for the rotten mens toilets but rather for the music and great atmosphere. It tends to get a bit empty later on as the Z-list celebs skip off to POD and Lillies but a good place to start the night.
