Review: 4 Dame Lane can be a bit hard to find as it is tucked away in the alley leading from Georges Street to Andrew Street parallel to Dame Street but it is worth a visit. It is not exactly noticable apart from the two 'flame torches' on the wall at the front. Upon entering you may realise that it is a bit dark with the music loud but this adds to the atmosphere. The pub itself usually gets packed rather early (10pm) and the upstairs seems to be always full. The service is effective and reasonably fast and the pints taste okay. Pricing is pretty reasonable also. All in all, a good youthful pub with plenty of that party atmosphere.

- Despite the rumours and similar entrance from a lane, this is 'probably' not where Carlsberg would build their pub (foreigner's: this refers to an Irish ad campaign). It tries to be pretty stylish and really succeeds with the entrance and downstairs. Here the high ceiling means smokers find it tricky to burn your eyes and lungs, and the music volume allows you to chat without being pensioner-low. However, if like myself you never make it to your final destination until 11 or 12, forget about getting a seat - the dull folk have already nabbed them.
- Nice pub, but gets maddly full couldnt stay for whole night as its too full, lovely place though, although didn't manage to find a bar upstairs so stayed downstairs
- A long wait is assured you to gain admittance to this jumped-up rip-off joint! Bouncers are arbitrary and rude, staff are rude and service appalling (if you stand in the wrong place at the bar you'll be ignored). Incredibly expensive and usually stifling hot, a place to avoid like the plague!
- Went on a drink up to Dublin awhile ago, as you do, and came across (actually stumbled across) 4 Dame Lane, bouncers were kind enough to let me in but wasn't overly impressed, mind you I was drunk, stayed all of 20minutes and left, but all I have heard are great reviews from my friends and family who have visited here, so next time I'm in Dublin I will drink a little less (if that is possible) and certainly give 4 Dame Lane another chance.
-My last visit to this pub is definitely my last ever. The staff were extremly rude, messed up the orders because they were too busy looking around the place. We complained to management who didnt seem to want to know. Its most certainly gone downhill in the last few months.It's quite expensive for a cramped ambiance.
- Very impressed with this bar, good music and the people are nice. The older student! The dance floor is quite small, but Ive always felt very comfortable. I believe everything from in this bar is visually appealing even the bar men!
- A large group of us went here on a Saturday night. Two of my friends got their jackets stolen and the staff were so unhelpful. They provided no follow up help to my friends either. Definitely won't be going back here.
- I agree with most people here. Rude staff, rude bouncers, appaling service. You will be ignored at the bar depending on where you stand. Way too hot. An absolutley disgusting experience which has put me off this place for life. Don't go there!!!!
