Spirit is situated on Abbey Street in the heart of Dublin and is situated about a five minute walk
away frm the Jervis Street Luas stop. We dropped in on a Saturday night and proceeded to have a truly
excellent night. Spirit truly has something for everyone..
Our journey through it's levels started in the basement level in the rock section which came complete
with pool tables and a guy offering 'spray tattoos'. It wasn't too crowded and was a nice contrast to
the main dance floor area.
The next level up had a chill out zone which was quite crowded but ambient all the same. We were told
that there was a movie room but didn't make it there as we proceed to the dancefloor complete with
live dances and men on stilts on the stage. The entertainment was good and all the punters seem to be
enjoying the music. The highlight act for us was a dance performance complete with Uncle Sam on stilts
to Marilyn Mansons 'Beautiful People'. The DJ's pumping music ensured the lively crowd were kept dancing
throughout the night.
We made it up to the VIP area which overlooked the dancefloor and was a good place to catch all the performances
down below and check out the talent.
Next stop was the holisitic area where we decided to avail of a massage which was an ideal way to shake
off the stress of the week.
The staff at all times were friendly and courteous and the service top notch throughout and while the drinks
were a little expensive they were tasty, especially the cocktails.
We'd defintely have no hesitation in recommending Spirit for a night out with friends that truly does nurture the mind,
the body, the soul and ofcourse the spirit.
You feel robbed the minute you enter the doors, and it
continues until the moment you leave. €20 is a bitter pill to swallow, but the nice interior and good music somewhat soften the blow. However, how a Nightclub can charge €17 for a half full Cranberry Juice that is poured from a Squeeze carton (€1.70)is beyond me and a bottle of Coors Light is beyond me. No Value for money
